St. Anne’s Sodality of Visitation Catholic Church had a very successful year at the annual Holiday Craft Show featuring Grandma’s Cupboard. Thanks to the many people of our area who shopped the bazaar, we are able to continue our ministry of giving back to our community.
We wish to thank everyone who had any part in making this endeavor successful. Without you in the community supporting us, we wouldn’t be able to continue our efforts. Visitation Church and St. Anne’s Sodality, with the help of the Knights of Columbus and the generous parishioners work from February through November on this project. A hand-made quit and afghan along with hand made jewelry were raffled off.
Profits are used to support our community dinner (last Thursday of the month), our baskets to shut-ins of the parish, families in need from emergencies, our Giving Tree, the local food bank which is an on-going ministry, parish needs, the families we help at Christmas, meals for shut-ins, our Youth Ministry, as well as an annual scholarship.
Our Knights of Columbus hosted an evening at Whispering Christmas, with parishioners supplying 130 dozen cookies. This is an event the community should be very proud of. The hours spent putting up the lights is incredible. Eaton’s Whispering Christmas Committee is an invaluable asset. There were cars from many states, and there were people from other countries who enjoyed the display.
St. Anne’s wishes to thank everyone who had any part in helping: our quilt and afghan maker, jewelry maker, cooks, bakers, candy makers, crafters, shoppers, organizers - it takes the works of many who give time and talents as well as monetary donations and those who attend our luncheon and craft show.
Eaton is a community we can all take great pride in. Thank you all.
