The Whispering Christmas Committee wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the community for their generous support in 2013. Attendance and donations were excellent for our 27th year!
As many of you already know, the Whispering Christmas drive-thru lights display is held at Ft. St. Clair Park, Eaton, Ohio, annually Dec. 1-31, 6-10 p.m., with refreshments served nightly in Santa’s Cabin December 1-24. As many of you may not know, this spectacular presentation is provided to the public solely by donations and volunteer help.
At this time, we’d like to recognize the following groups and businesses for their contribution to our successful event:
All of the groups who provide delicious cookies and volunteer their time to serve the refreshments in Santa’s Cabin.
Ace Hardware, Eaton, for providing all of the Styrofoam cups for the hot cocoa.
McDonald’s —Eaton, for providing all of the punch and cold-drink cups and lunch for the volunteers on the first set-up day.
Chik-Fil-A at Benchwood, Dayton, for providing all of the napkins.
Eaton’s Ft. St. Clair’s Park Maintenance Crew for always being there when we needed you!
Eaton’s Police Dept. for making the park a safe environment for those of us who opened & closed the Park each night.
All of the volunteers who donate their time, strength, and physical labor to erect all of the displays, string all of the lights, change light bulbs, repaint the wooden displays, decorate the cabins, open & close the Park each night, and make sure that the experience is a joyous one for everyone!
The number of volunteers is getting smaller and we are reaching out to the local communities for help. If you would be interested in assisting with the 2014 Whispering Christmas Season, or wish to contribute in any way, please contact the Committee at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive an auto-reply message with our current schedule of work weekends along with other helpful information. We welcome individuals, families, groups, clubs, school sports teams and clubs, church groups, businesses and other organizations…Anyone can be a part of something fun and exciting in Preble County!
Thanks for keeping the lights on!
