Eaton Little League’s Seniors All-Star team won their recent Ohio District 8 Little League championship game against Northridge, 13-0.

They also won games against Fairborn and Englewood, 11-0 and 9-2, respectively. They lost one game to Northridge, 9-5.

Although the team won the championship game, Team Manager Kevin Melling said the team left too many runners on bases throughout the tournament, leaving 32 runners on bases during the four games.

But, Melling also said the team had a lot of consistency hitting the ball, good defense and only committed seven errors.

The team will go to Mason for the state tournament where they will start off playing the District 1 winner on July 19.

Melling said the team will continue to work on defense and pitching this week. He said many of the boys have played together since they were young.

“They’ve got a lot of chemistry built up anyway,” Melling said.

He said he thinks the team will compete well and hopes they won’t let the excitement of the state tournament get to their nerves.

The team was coached by Dean Nicodemus and Dave Wilson. Team members are Jack Bieker, Robert Bishop, Zach Box, Kyle Clippinger, Henry Durham, Coleman Foster, Colton Gray, KJ Melling, Donnie Nicodemus, Dalton Walters, Shelby Ward, Ghye Wilson and Eric Woxman.
