GRATIS/CAMDEN — Happy anniversary: Wayne and Carol Ertel of Gratis Township celebrated thier 59th wedding anniversary on Feb. 8. Delbert and Kathy Donthnier of Gratis recently celebrated thier 34th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 5. Congratulations!

Birthdays: Chuck Crowley of Gratis Township and Elaina Truster of Camden celebrated birthdays on Feb. 8.

Kids Quest

A community Childrens Ministry Program pointing kids to Christ is held each Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. at The First Brethren Church in Gratis. This ministry is geared to kids entering kindergarten thru 5th grade. For information, contact Laurie at [email protected].

Conferences

Preble Shawnee Elementary and Intermediate Schools will hold parent teacher conferences on Feb. 14 and Feb. 16. Contact your child’s teacher for available times.

Dance

The Gratis Eagles #4289 will have,a Valentine’s Dance on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 8 p.m-midnight. “The Worley Boys,” a local country music group, will provide the entertainment. The public is invited.

Book and Bake Sale

The Camden Library, 104 S. Main St. in Camden, will have a book and bake sale on Feb. 13-17 during regular hours. All books are donations only and baked goods will also be for sale. The library hours are Monday and Thursay, noon-8 p.m., Tuesday 2-8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

New eatery

Local residents will have a new eatery to enjoy as Jesse’s Diner opens on Feb. 13, on Camden Avenue in West Elkton (formerly PJ’s.) New ownership promises a good homecooked meal at a fair price. Stop by and grab a bite.

Focus on Success

Former Preble Shawnee graduate Erica Kuhbander has caused some chaos, Sheer Kaos that is, as owner of her own shop in Greentree plaza off old 25 in Middletown. Cuts, styles, nails all can be taken care of by her staff, most of whom are also Preble Shawnee graduates. Congratulations on achieving a goal!
