WABO Sign-ups

Final WABO Recreational Little League Baseball and Softball sign-ups will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Salem Lutheran Church, 70 E Dayton Street, West Alexandria.

S&S P&P 4-H Club

Spic’n Span Pots’n Pans 4-H Club, established in 1970, will begin meeting on Monday, Feb. 27, at 4 p.m. in the Salem Lutheran Fellowship Hall. We meet every Monday and welcome new members! Cloverbuds include activities for children ages 5-8, and 4-H members must be at least 8 years old or in the third grade to compete in the Junior Fair. All fair projects must be turned in by the end of March. Meetings consist of 4-H business and working on fair projects, snacks and games. We cover all domestic, animal and miscellaneous projects. WACOCA Hymn Sing

WACOCA Annual Hymn Sing is Sunday, Feb. 26, 7 p.m. at Church of the Brethren, 22 E. Oak Street. Join churches from the community as we come together in song and fellowship with light refreshments afterward.

Foodbank

The Foodbank served 54 families during January. This includes 26 seniors, 58 children and totals 183 individuals. Needs are tuna, pork’n beans, pancake syrup, shampoo and toothpaste. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at St. John Lutheran Ingomar and Salem Lutheran Church on the first Sunday of each month.

Salem Lutheran Church

Starting March 1, during Lent, the Jr. Lutherans program will meet Wednesdays with a meal at 5:30 p.m. and program from 6-6:45 p.m. Children in preschool through sixth grade are welcome to be a part of our Jr. Lutheran program.

Join us during Worship on Sunday, Feb. 19, for agenealogy presentation and lunch afterwards in the Fellowship Hall with Pastor Dafler as part of our 200-year Church Anniversary Celebration.

Salem’s Haiti Mission Trip will be leaving Feb. 24. We have possibly 12 people going to be of service there. Cost to each person is $1,350, plus we are trying to collect an additional $500 for beans and rice to give to families there. We will contribute food and will be helping to build a multi-family home during this trip. You can be a part of this mission outreach with your donations and support. Checks should be made out to Salem Lutheran Church and writing Haiti in the memo section of your check. God bless you for your support!

The Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study will be held Feb. 18,at 7:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
