New felting workshop at Art Center

EATON — The Preble County Art Association has a special workshop scheduled, hosted by Carrie Davis from Blessed Creations Alpaca Ranch, located in southwest Preble County.

Davis will be teaching a felting workshop where participants will use alpaca wool to create beautiful and functional pieces, according to Executive Director Vickey Fanberg.

This textiles workshop will introduce two forms of felting. Participants will use a wet felting technique to create a felted bar of soap.

“This is both beautiful and functional, the felting makes a great exfoliator as you wash,” Fanberg said in a press release. “They will also learn a needle felting technique to decorate dryer balls. These are great for creating fresh smelling laundry if you add a drop of essential oil to the felt ball before dropping it in the dryer.”

This two hour workshop is on Saturday, March 25, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost for this workshop is $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers. All materials are included.

Registration can be done online at www.preblearts.org or in person at the Visual Art Center. Payment must be made at time of reservation. Space is limited and registration will close Thursday, March 23. The PCAA is located at 601 Hillcrest Dr. in Eaton. Call 937-456-3999 for more information.
