EATON — The Eaton Area Community Band will present a concert on Sunday, March 26, at 4 p.m. in the Eaton Performing Arts Center on Hillcrest Drive. Once again, the band will share the stage with the Ohio Valley British Brass Band. This will be the fifth OVBBB in Eaton.

“We’re very excited to have the Ohio Valley Brass back for another shared concert,” Tad Stewart, director of the EACB and retired director of bands for Eaton Community Schools said. “I’ve been privileged to play in this group since I retired, and this year they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. The 45-member band is made up of some of southwest Ohio’s top brass and percussion players, and you’ll be astounded at the sound you hear from this amazing ensemble.”

Among the selections for the concert are two seldom heard Sousa marches, the John Williams theme from the movie, “The Cowboys,” and selections from the soundtrack of the classic 1949 movie, “Down to the Sea in Ships.”

In what has now become tradition, the bands will combine to close out the concert, with the members of the brass band at the sides and back of the auditorium. They will perform Stewart’s arrangement of “Fairest Lord Jesus,” and a march by Clifton Willams entitled “The Sinfonians,” accompanied by soaring brass fanfares. Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be accepted.
