PREBLE COUNTY — The Northern Connection “Lunch & Learn”is set for Feb. 14, at 11:30 a.m., at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 301 E. Main Street in New Paris, Ohio. The Northern Connection is a partnership between the Preble County Council on Aging and the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Lunch is served at no charge (donations are welcome) followed by Sweet Sensation entertainment. Everyone is welcome to attend. Thursday Night Weekly Dance: Thursday, Feb. 15, is our Sweetheart Dance at the Thursday Night Dance, which is held from 5-8 p.m. at The Grange at 501 Nation Avenue, Eaton. The Silvertones, a local band from Camden, will provide an enjoyable evening of classic rock & roll and country music for your listening and dancing pleasure. Band members include Michael Powers on piano; Mike Buckley, lead guitar; Danny Witt, bass; and Gary “Pete” Peters on drums. The dance features delicious food, with a $1 menu, a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes. Admission is $3 per individual/$5 per couple. Join us for a fun evening! Tax Services: An AARP, IRS Certified, Tax Preparer will be at the senior activities center to offer FREE tax preparation. You must call to make an appointment at 937-456-4947

Closed: The senior center and its services will be closed, Monday, Feb. 19 in observance of President’s Day.

The Health Benefits of Chocolate: Jonathan from Bella Care Hospice will share a brief history of chocolate, explain how chocolate is made, describe chocolate varieties, and shed light on the many health benefits of chocolate, plus a tasting! Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at the senior activities center.

Easter Centerpieces: Today’s Harvest will be here on Tuesday, March 27, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. to participants to make Easter Centerpieces. All supplies provided. $20 payment due on or before Feb. 27.

Art Lab: Keep your brain active in a relaxing way by painting your own pottery. Join us, Feb. 28 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; different bisque products will be available for you to paint. Cost ranges from $8 – $25. Call the senior center to reserve your spot, 937-456-4947.
