PD K-9 Training

A multi-agency training with SRT units and K-9 units took place at the old Twin Valley South High School on Dec. 16. Training was conducted for Responding to Critical Incidents and revolved around schools. The WA Fire Dept. would like to thank the kind owner, Don McMahon and also Vanessa Garrett for allowing us to use the building for this specialized training. Agencies who attended the special training were the Preble County Sheriff, West Alexandria Police, Darke County Sheriff, Butler County Sheriff, Camden Police, Eaton Police, Hamilton Police and Dayton International Airport Police along with volunteers from the West Alexandria Fire Department.

American Legion

New Year’s Eve Celebration with Justin Bryant Band will be Thursday, Dec. 31, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets on sale at the Canteen are $15 each. Pork and sauerkraut and mashed potatoes served at midnight! James E. Ryan Post 322, 1477 Ohio 503 South. The Canteen will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club

The Venison for Food Banks of Preble County program is on-going. Anyone who takes a deer can donate all or part of the meat for the Foodbanks. We have sponsors who will take care of the processing fees. You may contact Brad Turner, Preble County Game Warden, or Curtis Early at 937-533-3226.

Foodbank

Items needed are egg noodles, mac & cheese, pork & beans, tuna, pancake syrup, shampoo and toothpaste. The Foodbank is open from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at Salem and St. John Lutheran Churches the first Sunday of each month.

Good News Bible Club

Calvary Baptist Church is hosting it’s Good News Bible Club for students in grades K-4, which meets in the TVS Middle School Art Room every Tuesday from 3:30-5 p.m. as long as school is open. We currently have between 22 and 25 students attending. For information about the Good News Club, contact Wayne Cook at 937-336-9600 or Linda Cook at 937-336-9500 from Calvary Baptist Church.

St. John Church

St. John Christmas Eve Candlelight Service and Communion will begin at 7:30p.m. and a Candlelight Service led by the Youth will take place at 11p.m. on Dec. 24 at 20 E. South Street.

Salem Lutheran Church

There will be a Christmas Pageant full dress rehearsal Wed. Dec. 23. All Pageant fittings and the Bell Choir will begin by 6:30 p.m. and the Chancel Choir will meet at 7:30p.m. for the full dress rehearsal.

The Christmas Cantata and Pageant will begin at 7p.m., Thursday, Dec. 24. The evening begins with a Hand Bell concert, followed by the Christmas Cantata and Pageant and will culminate with the singing of a Christmas hymn by candlelight.

A Christmas Day Service will begin at 10:30a.m. Dec. 25 with a Carol Service of Holy Communion.

St. John Lutheran, Ingomar

A Christmas Eve service will begin at 7p.m. at St. John Lutheran, Ingomar, 2139 Enterprise Road in West Alexandria. Offices will be closed Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. For more information check out our webpage at www.stjohningomar.org.
