Preble Library accepts military history collection, restores donated clock

EATON, — The Preble County District Library’s Genealogy Room staff would like to express their gratitude to a Preble County resident, Harold K. Steiner.

Steiner graciously donated his collection of more than 80 military history, school books, biographies, and other miscellaneous items for inclusion in the Preble County Genealogy Room’s in-house collection. These resources are in the process of being cataloged and made available to the public as a reference material for educational research, family genetic research, and more.

The Preble County Room would also like to recognize Scott Trochelman of Scott’s Clocks in Camden. Trochelman repaired a grandfather clock previously donated to the library by staff member Skip Rhoades. Trochelman was kind enough to repair the donated clock and offer his services to the library free of charge.

The Preble County Room relies on donations from the community to build its collection of local historical information and resources. Both of these donations will help preserve Preble County’s history for future generations. The Preble County Room thanks the individuals named above for their commitment to preserving local history.
