Hello Lewisburg!

Happy Easter and spring!

Blue skies overhead, birds singing, kids riding their bikes and also talking about how many days of school are left after Spring Break! Times have not changed! Trees are budding, flowers blooming and we have seen lots of smiles as people walk up and down the streets of Lewisburg. It sure is a welcome sight!

Bicentennial 2018

This memory is a keeper! The first township election was held in October 1815, and those elected were to begin their duties Jan. 1, 1816. The election took place south of the spring of what later became the Euphemia schoolhouse. Elections were held every year. If an elected official refused to serve, he was fined $2. Any man could hold as many offices as he could get elected to (aren’t you glad that this rule changed?)

March birthdays

March 25 — Jamie Wilbur

March 26 Anniversary: Mike and Sherry Bayham

March 28 — Barb Traylor (In loving memory)

March 29 — Mason Webster

March 30 — Chloe Harry, Everett Trittschuh, Dan Gullickson

In closing

Albert Schweitzer once stated “Do something wonderful, people may imitate it.” In the aftermath of the Brussels tragedy, it is sometimes hard to see the great happenings that are occurring around us. Super things are happening in our village. Concerts, the Cumberland House, Neighbor Night, etc. We don’t have to look very hard to find something great! Always remember: “There is spirit; there is grace in our peaceful country place.”

Until next week …
