Senior Day, COA Annual Meeting set

EATON — May is Older Americans Month, a proud tradition that shows our commitment to honoring the value that elders contribute to our community.

This year’s Older Americans Month theme is Blaze A Trail. Older Americans Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of community engagements as a tool for enhancing the well being of older adults. Now is the time to continue Blazing A Trail to make the benefits of community living a reality for older Americans. Together we can promote healthy aging, increase community involvement for older adults and tackle important issues like the prevention of elder abuse.

Preble County will celebrate Older Americans Month with a Senior Day on Tuesday, May 10, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Preble County Senior Center, 800 East St. Clair Street, Eaton.

We invite you to join us for games, food, entertainment and informative speakers. The “2015 Preble County Outstanding Senior Citizen” will be named. The Annual Meeting will follow (1:30-2:30 p.m.). Members will be able to vote. This event is free to the public.

Senior Day is always an enjoyable day for everyone. Mark the date on your calendar and plan now to join us.
