WEST ALEXANDRIA — The very first Oktoberfest Miss & Mr. Pageant was held Saturday, Oct. 8.

The pageant, which is sponsored, Alpha Kappa Sorority, by will begin at 4 p.m., in Peace Park, in West Alexandria.

All contestants will be judged on stage in the following categories: appearance, stage presence/poise and overall presentation. There will be no pre-judging of the contestants. The entry fee is $10 per contestant.

Pre-registration via mail is encouraged (but not required) by Monday, Oct. 3. The first 30 contestant entries received will have the opportunity to ride in the Oktoberfest parade on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m.

Anyone unable to mail in their registration by Monday, Oct. 3, should bring it the day of the event no later than 3 p.m. Registrations will be accepted from 3-3:30 p.m.

Participant categories include, Baby Miss & Mr. (12-24 months;) Tiny Miss & Mr. (2-3 years;) Little Miss & Mr. (4-5 years and not in kindergarten;) Young Miss & Mr. (K-3rd grade;) Preteen Miss & Mr. (4th-5th grade;) Teen Miss & Mr. (6th-7th grade;) Junior Miss & Mr. (8th grade.)

Winners from each category will be awarded a sash, crown and cash prize. A few special prizes will also be awarded as well.
