| 12/29/2009 7:00:00 PM | Email this article Print this article | Winter Crisis Program available Community Action Partnership is offering the Winter Crisis Program (Emergency HEAP) for Preble County residents now through March 31, 2010, or until all funds are exhausted.
The program is designed to help income-eligible households.
Households facing utility disconnection may receive emergency assistance on their electric and/or gas bill up to $175.
The program can also purchase bulk fuel up to $600, and $350 for wood/coal or pellets for those households with a 10-day supply or less.
Emergency assistance is available only once per heating season.
Income eligibility has now increased to 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines for the Winter Crisis Program and the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP).
Household size: one person, gross income three months, $5,415; gross income, 12 months, $21,660. Two people, $7,285, $29,140. Three people, $9,155, $36,620. Four people, $11,025, $44,100. Five people, $12,895, $51,580. Six people, $14,765, $59,060. Seven people, $16,635, $66,540. Eight people, $18,505, $74,020.
Three-month-households with more than eight members add $1,870.25 for each additional member; 12-month households with more than eight members add $7,480 for each additional member.
Customers are required to provide the following information: Proof of total household income for the last three months; Social Security cards for all household members; current electric/gas bill and disconnect notice(s); name, address, and phone number of landlord if they are a renter.
