Fielding/baserunning camp
Eaton High School will host a one-day fielding and baserunning camp on Sunday, April 11, for players in grades 1 through 12. Eaton High School head coach Bart Davis will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. The session will last for three hours. The cost is $50. Space is limited. Volunteer help needed
The Eldorado Boosters is looking for a grounds keeper to help in maintaining the field, and for light trash duties. The ideal candidate would be someone who is retired and wanting something to do or just a person who has some extra time on their hands and wants to help out with our kids of the community.
Duties to be performed and not limited to are as follows: Dragging and lining two fields before every ballgame scheduled at the park; trash pick-up and light weed-eating (maintaining weeds on two fields and warning track and foul lines on the big diamond).
Individuals should contact the Eldorado Boosters if interested in donating time and expertise for the ball park.
Eldorado Boosters need help
The Eldorado Boosters is looking for community help in running the local ballpark concession stand. The ideal candidates would be community groups wanting to give back, Eagle Scouts, Church Youth Groups, 4-H Clubs, JH or HS Community Service Projects, Girl Scouts needing a community project, or just anyone wanting to help kids have a successful summer at the ball park.
Duties to be performed and not limited to are: Serve food and drinks during the ball games scheduled (could be up to two games a night and willing to work both); able to run the concession stand for one week; able to provide support whenever you can.

Ohio Grade School State Championships
The fourth annual Ohio Grade School Basketball State Championships for boys and girls in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will take place Friday through Sunday, March 12-14. All games, at one facility with six hardwood courts, will be played at McGee's Courts 4 Sports in Mason. The tournament is open to all school teams in the tri-state area. All teams are guaranteed three games with the tournament being pool play format. Deadline to sign up will be Friday, March 5. In 2009, more than 75 teams played in this tournament.

Goggin Ice Center public skating
Goggin Ice Center on Oxford's Miami University campus is now open for regular public skating sessions. Skaters of all ages will be able to participate Fridays and Saturdays 7:30-9 p.m., and Sundays from 3-5 p.m. There will also be noon skates on Fridays from noon-12:50 p.m. for $3. Skaters 17 and older can go to "Moonlight Skating" Saturdays from 9:30-11 p.m. (entrance is free with a Miami Student ID). The Goggin also has public skating from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday afternoons.
Unless specified otherwise, the skating price for Miami students with ID cards is $3; high school students and younger is $5; faculty, staff and their children is $5; and the general public is $6. Skate rental for all sessions is $2. A special group rate of $4 per person is available to groups of 15 or more people.
Reservations are required and the group should arrive 30 minutes before the session begins. The Goggin also offers special programs for preschool classes and scout troops.
