EATON — Eaton City Council met Monday, Dec. 19, to discuss end-of- year business.

Council approved ordinances dealing with appropriations for fiscal year 2017, and a resolution transferring $100,000 from the general fund to the safety fund.

Council also approved:

•Resolution 16-36 adopting the 2017 organizational listing for Fire/EMS. The only difference in this listing from the previous year is the date, the listing itself will stay the same.

•Resolutions 16-37 through 16-41, dealing with appointments to various boards. Council adopted all resolutions included in one motion.

•Resolution 16-42 approving the disposal of property. The city will dispose of several firearms and replace them.

•Resolution 16-43 allowing the City Manager to execute a contract for engineering for improvements to Nation Avenue. They have done work over to the road over the last few years, but this will be a contracted improvements for 2017.

During old business, council discussed the possibility of changing the time and rules of council. It was decided council would wait on that decision, as they would have to change three ordinances just to change the time of meeting.

Following an executive session, council adopted the 2017 organizational listing. This listing shows position classification titles, staff levels and pay grade assignments for 2017 and is established for full-time employees of the city.

The next Eaton City Council meeting will be on Jan. 17, 2017, at 7 p.m.
