24 employers to be at job fair

WEST ALEXANDRIA — A list of businesses currently taking part in the first-ever Preble County Job Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 8, has been announced.

Employers ranging from the areas of manufacturing to nursing and construction to banking are planning on attending, and job seekers are encouraged to visit.

The event, hosted by the Preble County Development Partnership, Preble County Chamber of Commerce and OhioMeansJobs Preble County, runs from 5-9 p.m. at Twin Valley South Schools in West Alexandria next Wednesday.

Twin Valley Superintendent Bob Fischer is a coordinator for the event.

“We’re excited about providing this new opportunity for the community to learn about potential employment opportunities in the county,” Fischer said earlier this month.

The Job Fair is open to any individual interested in gaining employment. Potential employees will have an opportunity to meet and potentially set a screening interview with various county and area business.

“Currently we have 24 employers scheduled to visit TVS to offer prospective employees a chance to talk about available job opportunities,” Preble County Economic Development Director Brenda Latanza said last week.

The employers attending include: Life Services At Caresource; Metcon; Bullen; Ohio State Apprenticeship Council; Pratt Industries; Clopay Building; Timken Steel; Silfex; Community Action Partnership; the Preble County Sheriff Department; the HIT Foundation; Dedicated Nursing Associates; RDI; Lawn Plus; Vancrest Healthcare Center; Gillman Home Center; Neaton Auto Products; LCNB Bank; Oyler Construction; DOT Transportation; Manpower; Avon Products; CRSI and Laborers Apprenticeship

Potential employees will have the ability to create resumes and fill out applications on the day of the Job Fair.
