OXFORD —Four Miami University students were arrested last week on drug trafficking and other charges.

According to Oxford Police officials, a nearly six-month investigation by the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) Task Force culminated in a week-long warrant sweep. During the week of April 24, the Oxford Police Department assisted the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force in serving multiple arrest and search warrants related to trafficking in prescription drugs and cocaine.

Arrested in sweep were Brett S. Balick, 21, of Matthews, North Carolina and Eric Dewinter, 21, of Rye, New York, and William P. Berg, 22, of Columbus, all three on fifth-degree felony charges of trafficking in drugs; and Roman Sembay, 19, of Strongsville, on fourth-degree felony possession of drugs and first-degree misdemeanor possession of drugs.

All four of the arrested individuals were Miami University students, according to OPD reports. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
