NT BOE issues pay increases

NEW PARIS — The National Trail Board of Education approved numerous pay increases at its last meeting, held on Tuesday, July 25.

Both Elementary Principal Ed Eales and High School Principal Brian McKnight were given a three percent salary increase, to begin with the 2017-2018 school year.

Food Service Director Dorothy Frist was given a three percent salary increase, to begin with the 2017-2018 school year.

Transportation Director John Toschlog was given a three percent salary increase and a three percent raise on a Personnel Training/Safety Coordinator Stipend.

Facilities Director Brian Smith was given a three percent salary increase and a three percent raise on a Professional Licensure Stipend.

Superintendent Jeff Parker was the last staff member to receive a three percent salary increase during this board meeting.

Brian Pool was approved to receive an additional $500 in his technology director stipend.

There were also several employments and resignations approved:

•Kyle Fischer’s resignation as a half time assistant varsity football coach was accepted, effective immediately.

•Jon Day’s resignation as assistant middle school football coach, pending his approval as half-high school assistant football coach, was approved.

•Lesley Thomas’ employment as long-term substitute teacher at her per diem rate of pay for each day for substituting as French teacher was approved.

•Drinda Hesselgesser’s employment as long-term substitute teacher at her per diem rate of pay for each day for substituting for Carly McConnell was approved.

•Bus driver Melissa Kemp’s employment at a rate of $15.42 per hour was approved.

•Substitute bus driver Walter E. Davies’ employment was approved.

•Frank Parker’s employment for National Trail’s band camp the week of July 17 was approved.

The following non-certificated personnel were approved by the board:

•Half-Assistant High School Football Coach Jon Day

•Middle School Cheerleading Advisor Andrea Wysong

The board approved the following volunteers:

•Girls’ Golf Coach Brian Jones

•Middle School Cheerleading Advisor Heather Ludy

In other news, the board:

•Approved the Elementary, Middle, and High School 2017-2018 National Trail Staff handbook.

•Postponed naming a delegate and alternate for the OSBA Capital Conference.

•Amended Eric Hoffman’s half time assistant varsity football supplemental to a full time assistant varsity football supplemental contract.

The next National Trail Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the National Trail K-12 Facility at 6:30 p.m..
