DAYTON — This past Friday, USA Today announced the Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger was ranked the eighth air show in America by readers of the newspaper. The top 10 choice was made from 20 shows nationwide nominated by industry experts. This year marks Vectren’s seventeenth year as the title sponsor of the event.

“Vectren is honored to be associated with this premier event, which continues to celebrate Dayton’s historic aviation legacy,” said Colleen Ryan, president of Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio. “Without the numerous volunteers and staff who dedicate their time to coordinate this event, this event would not be possible, and we applaud them in their efforts which assisted in the show being selected by USA Today readers as a Top 10 event.”

The Reno Air Races was ranked number one and Oshkosh AirVenture number two. The respected Chicago Air and Water Show was ranked number 10. The Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger just completed its forty-third annual show. The 2018 show headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be held June 23 and 24 at the Dayton International Airport.

The Vectren Dayton Air Show features world-class aerobatic champions, military jet demonstrations and entertainment for families. The City of Dayton, City of Vandalia, Dayton International Airport and Wright-Patterson AFB provide important community support to make the show possible. Additional supporters of the event include Kroger, GE Aviation, UTC Aerospace Systems and many other civic-minded sponsors. More than 1,000 volunteers join these organizations to make the show possible each year.
