Symphony on the Farm concert, dinner set

EATON — Join the Preble County Historical Society and Three Valley Conservation Trust for Symphony on the Farm, Saturday, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m.

A Richmond Symphony ensemble will play Civil War era music at the Preble County Historical Society’s Amphitheater, with instruments including violins, string bass, flute, trumpet, piano, guitar and drum.

There are two ways to enjoy this concert: for concert only, tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the gate on Aug. 12. Gate opens at 7 p.m. Drinks will be available for purchase at the event. For dinner and the concert, make reservations by calling the PCHS at 937-787-4256.

The cost of the dinner and concert is $90 per person, with proceeds benefiting both the PCHS and 3VCT. Reservations are made upon receiving payment and there is limited seating. The meal begins at 6 p.m. prior to the concert at 8 p.m.

Menu for the dinner includes appetizers and cocktails, Caprese salad, roulade of braised locally-raised heritage Berkshire pork with herbs, German-style fresh potato salad, and garden ratatouille. A vegetarian option will be available upon request. Dessert will be toasted homemade angel food cake squares layered with yogurt, raspberry puree and fresh berries.

All main items are raised or grown organically and baked/prepared at the Frank House farm or the Indian Creek Nature Preserve, Oxford.

Menu is subject to change upon availability and chef request.

Rain date is Aug. 19, for the concert; the dinner will only occur Aug. 12.
