PC auditor issues report

EATON — Preble County Auditor Lavon Wright released her monthly financial report on Aug. 28.

According to Wright, during the month of July, the county’s general fund receipts totaled $820,142.61, 20.22 percent above the estimated receipts for the month.

Sales tax revenue for July totaled $509,476.27 from May sales, Wright reported. Local Government Funds totaled $40,769.04, charges for services were at $78,269.77, interest was at $29,103.63, fines and forfeitures were at $2,635.91, and other receipts were $36,637.32.

According to Wright, the 1-mill conveyance fee totaled $11,053.80 and the the expenditures for the month were $22,000.

Expenditures

July general fund disbursements totaled $755,710.84, 16.92 percent below the estimate for the month, according to Wright. Salaries, PERS and Medicare disbursements were $453,836.21. There were no transfers for the month.

Department expenditures were $218,154.18, and included supplies ($12,104.20); equipment ($2,436.38); charges for services ($164,125.23); gasoline ($4,810.61); travel, advertising/printing and other expenses.

According to Wright, the general fund began 2017 with a balance of $4,781,385.73, and ended the month of July with $5,376,024.43.

General fund receipts were above what they were in 2016, 5.82 percent according to Wright. Expenditures for the month were 3.31 percent less than they were in 2016, with department expenditures down 1.37 percent.
