EATON — The Preble County Commissioners approved two agreements regarding the Gratis Ada Doty Street Improvement Project during a meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The project is set to begin soon.

The board first approved an agreement with Prograde Excavation & Demolition, LLC for $155,000 for the FY16 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). They then approved an agreement with the village for $401,696.70 for Ohio Public Works (OPWC).

This was the last step to getting the project up and running.

The commissioners noted receipt of the following correspondence and reports:

•Two letters from the Clerk of Courts regarding a probationary rate adjustment for Sheryl S. Mabry. She has completed her probationary period effective Aug. 22. Her rate of pay will increase according to the typical 5 percent rate from $10.74 an hour to $11.28 per hour. The second letter corrected the first — her rate of pay will actually be $11.29 an hour.

•A letter from the Ohio EPA regarding the fall 2016 second semi-annual groundwater monitoring report for the landfill. The letter stated no violations were discovered during review.

The commissioners also noted receipt of and approved a public official’s bond. The bond was for Brenda White ,who is the Preble County Treasurer. This was due to her not taking office until September.
