PCESC meetings

The regular monthly meetings of the Preble County Educational Service Center Governing Board are held the fourth Wednesday of each month, with noted exceptions, at the PCESC facility located at 597 Hillcrest Drive, Eaton, at 5:30 p.m. Next meeting will be Dec. 15 (fourth Friday, time changed to 3:30 p.m.)

Eaton Library Open House/BAH

Eaton Library’s Holiday Open House will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 5-7:30 p.m. The event will feature music by Eric Loy, punch and cookies, ornament crafts, and prize drawings for all ages. This is also a Preble County Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Business After Hours event. The public is invited to attend.

Free pictures with Santa

VFW Post 8066, located at 401 W. Lexington Rd. in Eaton, will be hosting free pictures with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 12-2 p.m. The event is open to the public and all kids will receive a free gift bag. The post is asking all who attend to call (937-456-5281) in advance so they can prepare the gift bags.

TVS delay, Dec. 22

The Twin Valley Community Local Board of Education and Administration will recognize all employees and retirees of the district 6:30-8:30 a.m., Friday morning, Dec. 22. Consequently the beginning of the school day for the Twin Valley South High School, Twin Valley South Middle School, and the Twin Valley South Elementary School will be delayed 1 hour. Bus routes will also be delayed and students will be picked up 1 hour later than their regularly scheduled times.

Humane Society wish list

The Humane Society of Preble County is always in need of the following items: cat litter (scoopable or non-scoopable), dry kitten food, canned puppy food, Clorox bleach, liquid Lysol or Fabuloso, liquid laundry detergent, air freshener, trash bags (33 gallon or tall kitchen bags), large Nyla bones and fabric softener sheets for dryers. Drop off these much-needed items to the shelter during operating hours. The Humane Society of Preble County is located at 951 S. Barron St, Eaton.
