EATON — Preble County Habitat for Humanity has announced its application process for the 2018 Partner Family Build. This is Habitat’s 18th home build since 1991. Construction will begin in early spring on a property in Eaton.

Qualified families are those with a stable income, but who are unable to qualify for traditional home loans due to low income levels. Families wishing to be considered for this house build need to turn in an application to the HIT Foundation office, located at 111 W. Somers St. in Eaton during the week of Feb. 5-9 from 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Applications can be requested by emailing Habitat at [email protected] or by stopping by the Habitat ReStore, located at 131 N. Barron St. in Eaton Wednesday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. or Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Applications may be picked up or requested at any time, but will only be accepted for a one week period. All applicants must be willing to work the required 500 hours of “sweat-equity” (250 hours for single applicants), attend financial planning classes, pre-purchase and post-purchase classes and be able to make minimum payments on the interest-free mortgage as well as taxes and insurance on the house.
