TVRGC Turkey Shoot

Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club Turkey Shoot is 1 p.m. each Sunday through the end of November. The public is welcome, and there is a lunch stand in the clubhouse.

AKS Fall Flower Sale

Alpha Kappa Sorority is approaching its 75-year anniversary of service to the West Alexandria and surrounding communities.

We are thrilled to be offering a Fall flower sale this year to help support our philanthropic endeavors in the community this year! Please contact an AKS member to order your fall mums, asters, etc. to decorate for the coming season, or contact Wendy Chesney at [email protected].

Beggars’ Night

West Alexandria Trick-or-Treat will be Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be a costume parade starting at the LCNB bank, 55 E. Dayton Street, at 5:15 p.m.. A costume contest, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club will begin at 5:30 p.m. across from the Town Hall. There are prizes for children twelve and under, divided into three age groups and three categories.

American Legion

We will Rock the Jukebox on Friday, Oct. 30.

Calvary Baptist Church

Fall Revival with Evangelist Bob Jones, Nov. 1-4, begins Sunday morning with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and Worship at 11 a.m. followed by a meal. Weeknights, Monday-Wednesday, services begin at 7 p.m. Come for “A Heavenly Vision for an Earthly Ministry” at 3613 Winston Lane. Call Pastor Dave Spears at 839-1024 for additional information.

Good News Bible Club

Calvary Baptist Church is hosting it’s Good News Bible Club, for students in grades K-4, which meets in the TVS Middle School Art Room every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. as long as school is open. We currently have between 22 and 25 students attending. For information about the Good News Club, contact Wayne Cook at 937-336-9600 or Linda Cook at 937-336-9500 from Calvary Baptist Church.

Foodbank

Items needed are macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, chicken noodle soup, peas, pork & beans, and pancake syrup. Also needed are gently used coats and blankets. The Foodbank is open from 10 a.m.noon on Mondays and Wednesdays and is located at St. John Church, 20 E. South Street. Contact the Foodbank at 839-1615 for additional information. Non-perishable donations can also be dropped off at Salem and St. John Lutheran Churches the first Sunday of each month.

WACOCA Thanksgiving Service

The WACOCA Thanksgiving Service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church at 7 pm. on Sunday, Nov. 22. There will be great music, fellowship, refreshments and an offering for the West Alexandria Foodbank.
