Manure Application 101 planned

0

EATON — Manure, dung, feces… regardless of what you call it, it is a fact of life for both humans and livestock producers.

Not surprisingly, people don’t always love manure, especially when their house is surrounded by it and the smell is wafting in and around their home…while they’re grilling out in their backyard.

The Preble Soil and Water Conservation District has been receiving a heavy number of pollution complaints lately. For the benefit of livestock producers in the county and ourselves, we are sponsoring an upcoming program to help you learn about the rules related to manure application to make sure you are not the next farmer who is reported to us.

Join us Tuesday, June 26 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Dr., Eaton.

Representatives from the Ohio Department of Agriculture and Preble SWCD will be speaking. This meeting is for livestock producers, custom manure applicators, and those who utilize manure on their farms. We hope to see you at the meeting. RSVP to Preble SWCD at 937-456-5159.
