EATON — Former members of the Downtown Eaton, Inc. group were recognized by Mayor Gary Wagner and other members of city council on Monday, Nov. 16.

“It’s amazing what they’ve done and the numbers they’ve had working to do this,” said Wagner.

He read a proclamation for the group, citing their impact in the city, putting on the White Christmas, Farmer’s Market, and the Downtown Saturday Night car show among several other events and projects in the city which have spotlighted each area of downtown.

“Whereas for several years the heart of Eaton has been those group of volunteers called Downtown Eaton, Inc,” read Wagner. “They’ve focused their time and energy on its beautification and improvement.”

He invited members Joann Brandenburg, Barb Collins (in memoriam), Ted Landis, Emily Medearis, Patty Wagner, and Kathy Willis, presenting them all with a key to the city for their efforts.

“You guys leave behind a lasting legacy for Eatonians and so many others to enjoy for the future,” said Wagner.
