TVS FFA Chapter tours Statehouse

COLUMBUS — On Sept. 25 the Twin Valley South Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) FFA officer team attended the Ohio FFA Legislative Leadership Conference in Columbus.

The officer team visited the Ohio Statehouse building, learned more about lobbyists, and learned more about how they can improve their home chapter.

They did an activity where there pretended to be representatives and the other FFA members were lobbyists. The lobbyists had to try to convince the representatives to sign the bill to support their cause.

Chapter President Kallen Pitz said, “It was a great way to learn about local government and how to advocate for agriculture the proper way to make our politicians more aware of issues in our community.”

The chapter would like to thank Representative J. Todd Smith for taking time to show them around the Statehouse building as well as his office and for being kind.
