Ohio 726 culvert replacement set to begin

PREBLE COUNTY — A culvert replacement project is scheduled to begin later this month on Ohio 726, between U.S. 40 and Ohio 722, and the route will be closed for up to 21 days.

Ohio 726 will be closed just south of Shurley Road for contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation to replace a deteriorated pipe at the 6.58-mile marker. The closure will go into effect at approximately 7 a.m. Monday, June 29, and it will remain in place through Monday, July 20.

Completion of the project will be contingent upon the weather, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of Ohio 726, Ohio 722, U.S. 127 and U.S. 40.

Brumbaugh Construction, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $334,527 to replace this culvert, as well as one on Ohio 503, and all work associated with both projects is scheduled to be completed in late August.
