WEST ALEXANDRIA — The Twin Valley Rod & Gun Club’s 4th annual coyote contest came to an end Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. There were 50 entries, killing 16 coyotes — 12 male and four female.

First place went to Team Predator Quest, Eaton, made up of Brent Creager and John Stevens. The coyote weighed 45.2 pounds.

Second place went to Frank Hora, West Alexandria, with a coyote weighing 38.8 pounds.

Third place was John Ferguson, Lewisburg, with a coyote weighing 37.8 pounds.

The largest female coyote, weighing 36.1 pounds, was entered by Rob Spangler of Union. He was the winner of the Twin Creek Chapter Quality Deer Management Association’s $100 prize.

The club thanks all the participating hunters and those who contributed to the success of the event. A special thank you goes to the QDMA and Les Loranzen for scoring deer antlers.
