PC Chamber State of the Nation Breakfast

The Preble County Chamber of Commerce has announced a special two-for-one outdoor breakfast event on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 8 a.m. at the Preble County Historical Society’s Amphitheater. U.S. Congressman Warren Davidson will discuss the State of the Nation, followed by an introduction to the two new directors of the Preble County Historical Society and a tour. Enjoy a “takeout” breakfast in the outdoors. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Registration is limited to ensure social distancing requirements. Masks are welcome. Road closed

Concord Road (between boxes 8540 and 8355) is closed for 8 weeks beginning at Toney Lybrook Road and ending at Concord Fairhaven Road due to a bridge replacement. No traffic will be permitted.

ESC meeting

The August regular monthly meeting of the Preble County Educational Service Center Governing Board scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 5:30 p.m. has been changed to Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Preble County Educational Service Center, Conference Room, 597 Hillcrest Drive, Eaton. The purpose of the meeting will be for all regular general purposes.

Road closure

Lewisburg-Ozias Road between boxes 6664 and 6555, beginning at Ozias Road and ending at Lewisburg Road, is closed for approximately 6 weeks for a full bridge replacement. No traffic will be permitted.

Software introduction

The Preble County Chamber of Commerce is inviting local business owners to attend one of three free virtual sessions presented by Recovery Amped on Wednesday, Aug. 5. Recovery Amped was created in 2019 to help address mental health and substance abuse disorders but is now an essential tool to virus tracking during the global pandemic, helpful in not only possibly saving lives, but also keeping the economy open, according to its creators. This software automates the entire symptoms tracking and contact tracing process. The software is built to help employers be more informed, make better decisions, and help predict the spread of COVID-19 or any other future outbreak in the workplace. Attend any one of the three sessions. Sessions are planned via Zoom for 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. Email [email protected] to RSVP.
