Chamber thanks 2020 chair, exiting board member

REBLE COUNTY – The Preble County Chamber of Commerce recently recognized the 2020 Board of Directors Chairperson, Jeff Sewert, and 2020 Treasurer, Cory Taylor, on completing a very non-traditional year.

Sewert, who represents the Village of Lewisburg, has been a board member since 2017. His year as chair has brought with it the many challenges the pandemic wrought, including cancellation of several major events and the move to virtual meetings and activities.

“Through it all, Jeff has been the chamber’s biggest supporter, helping us find a way to complete any task needing accomplished, and making sure everything was going okay for the staff,” Executive Director Leslie Collins said. “I couldn’t ask for a more engaged, supportive chair, and I thank him for serving during this mess of a year.”

Sewert will remain on the board of directors as immediate past chair through 2021.

Taylor, representing Brady Ware & Company, has served on the PC Chamber’s Board of Directors since 2015, for many of those years as the board’s treasurer. He has reached his term limit and will be leaving the BOD at the end of December, according to Collins.

“Cory has been one of the most dedicated board members an organization could ask for and has been a great leader for the chamber. His input and guidance will be greatly missed,” Collins said.

Had the in-person Annual Awards & Holiday Gala been permitted, Sewert and Taylor would have been recognized that evening. Instead, the two were recognized privately with plaques in their honor last week.

Preble County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 2020 Treasurer Cory Taylor was also recognized for his service. Taylor has reached his term limit and will be missed, according to chamber officials.
