Farm Bureau annual meeting, ice cream social set

EATON — The Preble County Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting and Ice Cream Social will be on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Toney Building on the Preble County Fair Grounds, 722 S. Franklin St., Eaton.

There will be free Ullery’s Ice Cream from 1 to 1:30 p.m. There is no cost for this family event. Additionally, everyone is welcome to stay for the business meeting, which will commence at 1:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to learn more about Farm Bureau.

At this meeting, the Preble County Farm Bureau will focus on finalizing policy suggestions which will be taken to the Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in December.

The membership will be asked to vote on County Code changes and election of the board of trustees along with the OFBF delegates.

Many of the officers and committee people have worked hard this year to make the local organization what it is, according to Christy Montoya, PCFB Organization Director.

“Preble County has more members than ever and we have committed many hours to state and national issues of importance to farmers and our agricultural community,” she said in a press release. ” The winners of our “2015 Scholarship” will be announced. We will have door prize given away at the conclusion of the meeting.”

Only currently paid active Farm Bureau members will have voting privileges.
