EATON — Preble County Job and Family Services/OhioMeansJobs is once again partnering with the Boy Scouts of America Miami Valley Council to offer the 2016 TANF Summer Youth Employment Program.

As in previous years, the site location for participation will be at the Woodland Trails Scout Reservation in Camden, Ohio. This program offers an opportunity for youth to develop a work history, have a current reference from an employer and earn a paycheck. Young adults, ages 14-24, living with a low-income family containing a minor, and a resident of Preble County are encouraged to apply.

The 2016 TANF Summer Youth Program will operate May 1-Aug. 31. Applicants must apply with both the OhioMeansJobs – Preble County agency and the Woodland Trails Scout Reservation. This year there are many open positions as Ranger Crew Members, Kitchen and Dining Hall Workers, Office & Trading Post Workers, as well as program staff positions. As in previous years, participants will be given the option to reside at the camp during program participation. This summer employment will look great on any college application or resume as young adults prepare for the future.

To obtain an application or more information regarding the TANF Summer Youth Program, contact OhioMeansJobs – Preble County located at 1500 Park Ave. Eaton, OH 45320. The Woodland Trails application can be printed from http://www.miamivalleybsa.org/Camping/SummerCamp/employment or obtained and submitted directly to the camp at 265 Gasper-Somers Road Camden, OH 45311.
