Road closing

Beginning June 6, at 7:30 a.m., Germantown Road will be closed between Enterprise Road and Preble County Line Road for approximately four weeks for a full bridge replacement. This closure will begin at Box #8501 and end at Box #8515. This will be closed to all traffic. Stay updated on this closing by viewing the Preble County Engineer’s website at www.prebeng.org.

Bugging along with Dr. Insecta

Bug along with Dr. Insecta on Saturday, June 4, from 7-9 p.m. at the Preble County Park District’s Garber Nature Center. Who is Dr. Insecta you ask? Dr. Insecta is an entomologist enthralling audiences across the United States with his special bug buddies. It is an interactive, entertaining, educational show for children and families. This is for all ages. Those who attend should bring a lawn chair. Garber Nature Center is located at 9691 Ohio 503 N., Lewisburg, two miles north of U.S. 40. Programs are free with supplies provided. Donations are welcomed. This program will be led by children’s naturalist Bev Holland. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all programs. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required at 937-962-5561.

OSU Extension Safe Food Handler Level 1 training

There will be a Safe Food Handler, Level 1 training on Friday, June 3, Aug. 12 and Oct. 14, from 1-5 p.m., at The Ohio State University Extension Office on the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, 1001 S. Main Street, Dayton. Safe Food Handler empowers employees as they learn how food becomes unsafe and their role in keeping food safe. ServSafe® is the industry standard for food safety education. Participants receive the ServSafe® Food Handler Guide and a certificate of completion. This class is for employees who prepare and serve food whether that is in a church, food pantry, food bank, child care center, home child care, Head Start, restaurant, or festival volunteers. Upon completion of this 4-hour course, the employee will receive a certificate of completion. Early childhood employees will receive an ODJFS in-service form.
