WEST ALEXANDRIA —The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified 41-year old Wendell Blakenship of West Alexandria as the motorcycle driver who was killed in a single-vehicle crash around 6:15 p.m., Saturday, July 25, on Lexington Road in West Alexandria.

According to officials, Blakenship was not wearing a helmet when the eastbound motorcycle went off the right side of the road and collided with a guardrail.

The accident occurred about a half mile east of the Lexington Road and Ware Road intersection in the 5200 block of Lexington Road.

Blakenship was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to troopers.
