EATON — Pop on over to the Preble County Council on Aging (PCCOA) and see our new look. October’s theme is “Seniors POP!” It is National Popcorn Month! Join us Wednesday, Oct. 5, at p.m. formaking popcorn balls, Friday Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. learn the history of popcorn, and on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 1:30 p.m. come try different popcorn flavors! Seniors are Popping this month with the PCCOA!

Therapist on Call: Wednesday Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. a Vancrest therapist will be here. The therapists are happy to discuss any questions and concerns you may have for them, as well as share hot topics with you. An informative time all-in-all at the Preble County Council on Aging.

Joy Tour & Travel: Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m., a representative from Joy Tour & Travel will be here to answer questions, provide information and take reservations for any of their trips.

Fun Friday: Seniors will be Popping this Fun Friday with entertainer Richard Scott providing good tunes. Food and entertainment is provided, Oct. 7, at noon at The Grange, located at 501 Nation Avenue in Eaton. Purchase your tickets in advance, by Oct. 5, at the Preble County Council on Aging. Tickets are $3 for members and $5 for non-members. This month’s event is sponsored by Arbor Trace.

Lunch with Jake: On Monday, Oct. 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., join us for “Lunch with Jake”. Jake Dailey is a volunteer with the U.S. Veterans Administration. “Lunch with Jake” is an opportunity for veterans to ask questions and get information about services available through the Veterans Administration while enjoying lunch in the Decade’s Diner at the Preble County Senior Center, located at 800 East St. Clair Street in Eaton. Jake also has a lot of knowledge about Preble County. In addition, Jake wants input about possible trips that would be of interest to men. He will also provide information about activities at the Senior Center that would be of interest to men. “Lunch with Jake” will take place the second and fourth Monday of every month.

Northern Connection: This month’s “Lunch & Learn,” be entertained by the local Gospel Light Singers on Wednesday Oct. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 301 E. Main Street in New Paris. The Northern Connection is a partnership between the Preble County Council on Aging and the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Lunch is served at no charge (donations are welcome). Thanks to Gem City for sponsoring this month’s Northern Connection. Caregivers Support Group: This group is meeting Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. Thanks to Heartland for sponsoring this month’s meeting. 937-456-4947

Flu Shots: Come to the Preble County Council on Aging Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Walgreens will be here to give flu shots to seniors. Bring your insurance card.

Birthday Bash: All people celebrating birthdays in October can join in on the celebration! Our October Birthday Bash is Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 1:30 p.m. at the Preble County Council of Aging. Thanks to Gateway for sponsoring the birthday cupcakes.

Happy Halloween: We are celebrating Halloween on Monday, Oct. 31. At 10 a.m. we are having trick or treat and at noon we are having a Halloween Party. Come dressed in your costume and celebrate with us!
