EATON — The Preble County Commissioners elected not to place a tax levy for 9-1-1 dispatch consolidation on the upcoming ballot during a Wednesday, July 22, regular session.

Commissioner Chris Day noted, “In doing some checking at the state level, making some different calls, I think we are going to have to do something in the future but I don’t think this is probably the right time to move forward with it. I think we will have to do something in the future but I think from what I’m hearing at the state there is some more changes coming down on this.”

Day said he will miss the Wednesday, Aug. 5 commissioners’ meeting for a state meeting updating the plans and process for consolidation across the state.

Day continued by saying, “I think we are going to have to continue looking at consolidation, it’s going to have to happen. I think we need to continue the conversation with the city and see what our options are.”
