Absentee voting to begin

EATON — The Preble County Board of Elections is now accepting applications for absentee ballots for the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election.

Voters may request an absentee ballot by mail. The request must include the voters’ name, home address, the mailing address to which the ballot is to be mailed (if different than home address), date of birth, Ohio driver’s license number or the last four digits of the voter’s social security number, signature, and date. Applications may be printed from the board of elections website, www.electionsonthe.net/oh/preble.

Requests for absentee ballots must be in writing, the Board of Elections can not accept requests over the telephone. A request by fax is also not acceptable.

Mail the completed absentee ballot request to the Preble County Board of Elections, 101 E. Main Street, Eaton, OH 45320. Deadline for mail-in absentee ballot applications is noon, Saturday, Nov. 5.

All voted absentee ballots must be received at the board office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day if delivered in person, or have a Nov. 7, 2016 postmark if mailed.

Voters may vote at the Preble County Courthouse, 101 E. Main St., Eaton, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Oct. 12-Oct. 21. Oct. 24-Oct. 28, voters may vote from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 31-Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Additional hours on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 4, are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, from 1-5 p.m. The last day to early vote is Monday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
