OXFORD — The thirds annual Howl At The Moon: A Spooky Family Arts Night hosted by the Oxford Community Arts Center, will take place Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5-8 p.m.
Howl at the Moon is a family and community-friendly event full of Halloween and autumn themed activities. The event features the Autumn Market, an artist, craft, and vendor fair in the ballroom, a haunted house, activities, live animals, and live music by Jericho Old Time Band. This event is free and open to the public.
In collaboration with Miami University’s Student for the Promotion of Writing (SPW), OCAC is holding its first-ever Ghost Story Contest. Students in grades 1-8 are invited to submit a short ghost story to be read during the Howl at the Moon event. Prizes will be awarded.
Jericho Old Time Band will perform live from the porch. An animal experience with Wild Hearts Zoo will allow guests to see a barn owl and other creepy creatures up close. There will be a carved pumpkin contest, pumpkin painting, face painting, crafts, games, and other arts related activities will be hosted by volunteers from Miami University student organizations.
The Autumn Market will include vendors such as Artistry Farm, GinghamGirl, Moon Coop, Barbara Easley, , Marcia Waller, Amy Paddock, Snazzy Threads, , Regina Simas, and more.
Jericho Old Time Band consists of Warren and Judy Waldron, Dale Farmer, Amy Clay Cogan, Susan Pepper, and Jonathan Bradshaw. Jericho performs regionally as well as being a staple of the Oxford Uptown Farmers Market.
