A man was pronounced dead on the scene following a three-vehicle crash on State Route 122 near Yost Rd.
The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. this morning.
Sargent Chris Colbert of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said, “the at-fault party was traveling north-bound on State Route 122. As he came up to Yost Rd., a vehicle was preparing to make a left-turn. It appears the [at-fault driver] misjudged distance, it’s still under investigation, that vehicle struck a motorcycle that was directly behind the vehicle that was making the left turn, went left-of-center and struck the vehicle that was coming south-bound. The driver of the south-bound motorcycle was killed at the scene.”
Other reported injuries at the scene appear to be minor. The at-fault driver is being treated for injuries at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets. Identities of the drivers and the deceased have not yet been released.
The deceased was a male, Preble County resident.
