Survivor Style Show

The American Cancer Society will host a light dinner and Survivor Style Show on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the Eaton High School cafetorium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10 presale and $15 at the door and may be purchases at Your Flower Shop in Eaton or at Profiles in New Paris. PCHS Herb Workshop

October 2015-2016’s International Herbs of the Year are peppers. Mary Hofacker, Chair of the Preble County Herb Society, will talk about peppers, their uses and recipes at the next Herb Society meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Preble County Historical Society, 7693 Swartsel Road, Eaton.

Town hall meeting

The Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership (S.A.P.P) will be hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meeting will feature guest speakers, statistics provided by Eaton Police and Preble County Sheriff, and prevention education. A wealth of community resources will be on site to answer questions about recovery and addiction including local treatment services.

Sid Davis to appear

Comedian Sid Davis will perform at the American Legion Post in Eaton on Saturday, Oct. 17. Sid (Chris) Davis is a graduate of Eaton High School. Tickets go on sale on Friday, Sept. 25. Life guarding class

The Preble County YMCA will be offering an October life guarding class. The classes will be held Oct. 16-25. Participants must be at least 16 years old and attend 100 percent of the sessions. This class also includes four additional certifications (CPR, First Aid, AED, and emergency oxygen administration.) Contact the YMCA for cost and other information.

Koffee Talks

Preble County Koffee Talks take place the first Friday of the month from 8-9:30 a.m. at Reflections@pmg. For more information, contact Stefanie Price at [email protected]. Families of Addicts Support Group (FOA):

The community is invited to attend FOA in Preble County. The weekly meeting embrace, families, friends, individuals struggling with addiction in order to promote recovery, support and advocacy. The group meets weekly on Monday, evening from 7:30-9 p.m. at the North Side Chapel First Church of God, 6820, North Main Street, Camden, For more information contact FOAfamilies.org.

Rebekah Lodge breakfast

Somers Rebekah Lodge #125, 230 S. Main St., Camden, will have an “all-you-can-eat” breakfast the first and second Saturdays of each month, with serving from 7-11 a.m. Included in the meal will be sausage, biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $5 for adults and $4 for children.
