NT board recognizes FFA program

NEW PARIS — On Tuesday, May 24, the National Trail Board of Education recognized many students for their outstanding accomplishments, ranging from Rotary Honor Scholars, GPAs, Preble County Rotary 4-Way Speech Contest winners, Preble County Art Show winners, Perfect Attendance, State Winners, All-County Band members, and FFA accomplishments.

Thirty-one of these students were National Trail-MVCTC FFA members.

Their accomplishments represent our chapter well, not just throughout the county but the state.

The following members were recognized: Erika Gallaher, FFA State Public Speaking Contest — Gold Rating; Suzanne Kimball — National FFA Band and 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Tabitha Shepard, FFA State Choir; Alexus Acton, FFA State Degree; Trey Mann, FFA State Degree; Chloe Studebaker, FFA State Degree; Gracie Jones, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest and 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Macel Stowers, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest and FFA State Public Speaking Contest — Gold Rating; Lane Hurd, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest; Rachael Kimball, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest and 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Lily Carpenter, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest and 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Gunner Nugent, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest; Valerie Stevens, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest and 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Hunter Lee, 6th in the FFA State Novice Parliamentary Procedure Contest and 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Kerstian Casteel, FFA State Gold Rating Reporters Book; Weston Haws- FFA State Gold Rating Treasures Book; Dawn Richardson, FFA State Gold Rating Secretaries Book; Sammy Hawkins, Dawson Ward and Cole Yount, 6th in the FFA State Meat Judging Contest; Holly Lawson, Mariah Lay, Kelsey Matheny, Sydney Miller, Mallory Nugent, Lexi Stiner, and Tiffany Padgett, 23rd in the FFA State Equine Judging Contest; Wade Nugent, Derek Nugent, Austin Fox, and Daniel Jennings, 27th in the FFA State Wildlife Judging Contest, and Cierra Rinehart, 3rd in the FFA State Agriscience Fair Project.

These students put in hours of hard work in and out of school, had dedication, and were so passionate about their contests and activities. We encourage any FFA members as well as community members to attend our events and help make a difference in our community. The National Trail MVCTC FFA organization provides leadership, personal growth, and career success training through agricultural education to over 150 student members at National Trail High School.

On Tuesday, May 24, the National Trail Board of Education recognized many students for their outstanding accomplishments, including 31 members of the NT FFA.
