Change in the School Day at Camden Primary and West Elkton Intermediate Schools for the 2015-16 School Year

Camden Primary and West Elkton Intermediate Schools will have common starting and ending times for the 2015-16 school year. This change is done with the intent to shorten bus travel time for students who live many miles from the school they attend.

Morning Bus Routes

A typical school day will start with the bus routes in the western half of the district picking up Kindergarten through grade 6 students and delivering K-3 students to Camden Primary at 8:45 a.m. Grade 4 through 6 students will remain on the buses and will be delivered to West Elkton Intermediate at 9 a.m. Bus routes in the eastern half of the district will pick up Kindergarten through grade 6 students and deliver grade 4-6 students to West Elkton Intermediate at 8:45 a.m. Grade K through 3 students will remain on the buses and will be delivered to Camden Primary at 9 a.m. The official start of the school day at both buildings will be 9 a.m.

Afternoon Bus Routes

A typical school day will end with the bus routes in the western half of the district picking up grade 4 through 6 students at West Elkton Intermediate at 3:30 p.m. The buses will then go to Camden Primary to pick up grade K through 3 students at 3:45 p.m. From this point buses will continue on their routes to deliver students home. Bus routes in the eastern half of the district will pick up grade K through 3 students at Camden Primary at 3:30 p.m. The buses will then go to West Elkton Intermediate to pick up grade 4 through 6 students at 3:45 p.m. From this point buses will continue on their routes to deliver students home. The official end of the school day at both buildings will be 3:30 p.m.

Supervised Time

From 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., students will be supervised by Preble Shawnee staff at locations in the buildings designated by the building principals.

Buildings Open and Close

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 3:50 p.m. at both buildings for parents who wish to drop off and pick up their children. Doors will remain locked during the official school day with entrance permitted at designated entrances with a security call-in button and camera.
