INDIANAPOLIS — Oct. 19-21, the Eaton MVCTC FFA Chapter attended National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Nine students ranging from 10th through 12th grade attended this trip. At the convention, the FFA members were able to attend sessions where they heard the National FFA officers speak, along with keynote speaker Diana Nyad, who shared her inspirational story of how she swam from Cuba to Florida at age 64.

Members were also able to bond at a Cole Swindell, Chris Young, and the Henningsens concert. Other activities included attending a career fair, seeing the Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event finals, watching a hypnotist show, and seeing Ohio’s own Sydney Snyder deliver her retiring address.

During these three days members connected in ways they never expected. One student, Tarah Tadlock, said, “It was amazing how close we got in just three days. I don’t want convention to end, but I’ll never forget the memories and friendships made here.”

All throughout the convention the theme of “Transform” was present, and members were encouraged to be the change they wanted in their communities, and to transform others’ lives through the giving of hope. The FFA members who attended convention hope to bring these ideas back to their chapter and be a positive influence that transforms their community. The members who attended included: Drew Kahle, Trent Broerman, Daphne Durhum, Katelyn Niehaus, Tarah Tadlock, Blake Whitesell, Cole Whitesell, Andrew Brooks, and Arica Hamilton.
