The village of Eldorado has renewed its partnership with Efficiency Smart through the end of 2016, extending the initial three-year contract that began in January 2011. Efficiency Smart provides energy efficiency services for electric customers of Eldorado Municipal Light, Sewer & Refuse. Through the end of November 2013, the partnership has resulted in 80 megawatt-hours (MWh) of energy saved in Eldorado.

Under the terms of the new agreement, the cost to participate in Efficiency Smart will decrease with no impact on the level of services participants receive. Most of the provisions will remain the same during the next service period, including a 70 percent performance guarantee and independently verified savings claims.

“We have enjoyed partnering with Efficiency Smart for the past three years,” said Eldorado Mayor Tiana White. “We are looking forward to the continued benefits it provides for our electric customers.”

Eldorado residents and businesses have the opportunity to benefit from a variety of energy efficiency services through Efficiency Smart, including:

Rebates for energy-efficient products, discounts on energy-efficient lighting and financial rewards for recycling secondary refrigerators and freezers for residential customers.

Rebates for more than 90 improvements for businesses with annual electric usage of 20,000 to 500,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh), including lighting and lighting controls, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, electric heating, food service equipment and compressed air and motors.

Tailored services with dedicated account management, customized financial incentives and technical assistance for organizations that use more than 500,000 kWh of electricity annually.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our partnership with the village of Eldorado and to build on the momentum from the past three years,” said Kristyn Wilder, executive director of Efficiency Smart. “Our goal is to continue to make a lasting impact in the community, not only through additional energy savings, but also through workforce, economic and community development.”
