Daniel Ferriell is set to receive a Bob and Barbara Williams Leadership Scholarship from Miami University
Ferriell of Eaton, was one of eight students to receive the 2014 Bob and Barbara Williams Leadership Scholarship through Miami University’s Paper Science and Engineering Foundation. Ferriell is a 2011 Eaton High School graduate, is a junior chemical engineering major with a concentration in paper science and mathematics minor.
This prestigious award is presented to students in the paper science and engineering curriculum in recognition of their leadership, creativity, and academic achievements. Recipients were selected by a committee of engineering faculty and Paper Science and Engineering Foundation staff. Winners received a $13,000 full tuition scholarship thanks to the generosity of The Bob and Barbara Williams Foundation.
Ferriell’s contributions to Miami include being a member of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute at Miami, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Student Technical Association of Pulp & Paper Industries and Beta Theta Pi. This past summer Ferriell interned with the Georgia Pacific Company. He currently serves as a teaching assistant for freshmen engineering classes, a Greek Life Guide Mentor, and has helped develop Project High Flight.
