Preble Shawnee and Twin Valley South’s boys basketball teams each picked up key wins this weekend as they looked to remain near the top of their respective leagues.

Preble Shawnee rallied from a third quarter deficit to defeat host Dixie, 60-56, on Friday, Jan. 10, in a Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division game.

The Arrows learned just minutes before game time they would be without leading scorer Trey Smith, who aggravated a previous injury.

But sophomore Joby Williams stepped up in his place. Williams scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists to lead the Arrows to their fifth win of the season.

Brian Ketring and Wyatt Austin each scored 13 and Josh Willoughby added 10 and pulled down six rebounds.
