EATON — Weight Resistance: In this 45 minute class, one will work with provided exercise bands designed to help build muscle through resistance. The participant can expect to follow a set of exercises which strengthen both the upper and lower body. This class begins Thursday, Sept. 7 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at the Senior Activities Center. $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Tai Chi for Health is an excellent exercise program designed by both Tai Chi experts and medical professionals. Tai Chi for Health benefits all people regardless of their physical condition. Many health conditions can be improved by daily practice. Conditions include Arthritis, Back Pain, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Balance and more. This class begin Thursday, Sept. 7 from 10:15-11 a.m. at the Senior Activities Center. $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Stretching/Relaxing: Participants in this class will work with the overall body in standing, sitting, and laying positions. The class will follow a set of exercises designed to gently stretch the body. The final 10 minutes will focus on a guided meditation to relax both the mind and body. This class begins Thursday, Sept. 7 from 1-1:45 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center. $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Purse Auction: We are auctioning off purses, jewelry, scarves and a little bit more! This is a fun fundraiser that is held at the Senior Activities Center on Friday, August 25 from 1:30-2:30. Join in on the fun while raising money for a great cause, Preble County Seniors!

Legal Aid Free: ‘Plan Ahead & Protect Yourself,’ Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc., have been providing great information for our seniors this month. Stop in Aug. 23 to learn about ‘Health Advance Directives,’ and/or on Aug. 30 to be educated on ‘Wills and Estates.’ Join us 6:00pm at Decade’s Diner in the Senior Activities Center.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: A great resource with friendly ears, kind hearts, and non-judgement. A support network with Q & A, and speakers to answer those bigger questions. Join us as we come together to share on Aug. 25, 1-2 p.m.

Thursday Night Weekly Dance: The Thursday Night Dance is held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at The Grange at 501 Nation Avenue, Eaton, Ohio. The Silvertones, a local band from Camden, Ohio will provide an enjoyable evening of classic rock & roll and country music for your listening and dancing pleasure. Band members include Michael Powers on piano; Mike Buckley, lead guitar; Danny Witt, bass; and Gary “Pete” Peters on drums. The dance features delicious food, with a $1 menu, a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes. Admission is $3 per individual/$5 per couple. Join us for a fun evening! National Park Senior Passes: If you are 62 years of age or older, you have the opportunity to buy a Lifetime Pass to National Parks for $10 before August 28. After August 28 the pass will cost seniors $80. To purchase your pass online, go to www.nps.gov. Or stop in the senior center for applications.

Rising Star Casino: The Rising Star Christmas Casino will be transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland of enchanting scenes. Featuring animated figures, hundreds of props, the 12 days of Christmas, and more. You will receive $20 in free money.
